Over the coming three years, the Danube Lower Austrian Visitors` Ring will be organising a comprehensive package of qualification measures with training courses, workshops and excursions in a LEADER cooperation project for establishments in the Wachau and Nibelungengau. The landlords should be provided with business training and prepared for future challenges. The changing needs of guests as a result of demographic changes should be identified and the offer adjusted to Holiday on the Farm establishments, vineyards and private room landlords.

Nowadays, those looking for success as a host have to constantly develop and professionally market their offer – a big challenge for smaller operators. Around 163 certified Holiday on the Farm, private room hosts and vineyards in the tourism destination of Donau Niederösterreich have therefore signed up to the Danube Lower Austrian Visitors` Ring.

In the Wachau World Heritage Site, the private room landlords, Holiday on the Farm establishments and vineyards are an important factor amongst the accommodation providers. Room letting is an important business activity for many agricultural businesses and is mostly carried out by women.
